Remember, you can only send guys who are your keepers to camps, not drafted players. Also remember that if you draft anyone over 33 they will regress by 5 overall points (can't use regression prevention on these - unless autodrafted). You can choose your keepers anytime after the finals end, and if you forget/don't do it, you will essentially be screwed for next season. What's up Boys, For you newbies to the league, every season I try to put out a Trade Deadline Report to review and grade each move our owners have made. Unfortunately I have been slacking the past few seasons, but I'M BACK! Here we go. Enjoy: 3/23/18 Heat Trade: DeMar DeRozan, Avery Bradley, Lonzo Ball Raptors Trade: LeBron James, Tyler Johnson, Greivis Vasquez Grade: A Winner: Raptors Absolute BOMB of a trade to kick of Season 14 in MLB. Shocking that anyone that would trade Lebron would win this trade, but each teams records tell the story. Raptors are currently 14-4, while Mr.2k is struggling at 5-10. Stay tuned as Lebron may be on the move twice in one season! Raptors put together a nice team after shipping arguably the best player in the history of the NBA for a bonafide star in Derozan and the potential that is Lonzo Ball. Avery not a bad piece either. 3/24/18 Clippers Trade: Klay Thompson, Julius Randle, Brandon Ingram Lakers Trade: Stephen Curry, Wilson Chandler, Tristan Thompson Grade: A- Winner: Lakers What a bunch of wild story lines in this deal. Only in MLB would you see the splash brothers get traded for one another. And between the two LA teams?! Potential Collusion? Although the Clippers are currently the 2 seed in the West, I give the edge here to the Lakers. I know Kobe is going to be an absolute KILLER with Klay, and got 2 great pieces in Randle and Ingram. Doesn't help the Clippers cause that I know Steph doesn't stick around for long..... 3/25/18 76ers Trade: Damian Lillard, Troy Daniels Nuggets Trade: Devin Booker, Isaiah Thomas Grade: B- Winner: Nuggets @Nuggets GO? Sent? GO? Lol. I can only imagine what this DM looked like. Nuggets wins this trade in a landslide. Any time you can turn Devin Booker into Dame thats a win. This trade is a big reason why the Nuggets are in the Playoff mix, while the 76ers are cellar dwelling in the East. 3/25/18 Jazz Trade: Blake Griffin, CJ McCollum, Caris LeVert Mavericks: James Harden, Kosta Koufos, Corey Brewer Grade: B- Winner: Jazz Did Lew do it again or did Lew do it again!?! Turns JAMES HARDEN, top 3 2k scorer, NBA MVP into..... .Blake Griffin and CJ McCollum.... Jazz wins this trade. Although it may not look like it this season, Jazz have an absolute killer to build around for the next 5 seasons. CJ and Blake are solid pieces, but to lose Harden for? Ehhhhh IDK 3/25/18 Grizzlies Trade: Kawhi Leonard, Nerlens Noel, Jonas Jerebko, Allen Crabbe Hornets Trade: Victor Oladipo, Clint Capela, Serge Ibaka, Gary Neal Grade: A Winner: Hornets (solely based on standings) I actually love this trade for both teams. Clearly Kawhi and Dipo werent working out for each owner, so they relocated. Both teams got nice pieces in return as well. I give the Hornets the edge for having the best record, but man the Grizzlies sure did put together a nice looking roster. 3/25/18 Jazz Trade: Ronae Hollis- Jefferson Mavericks Trade: Caris Levert Grade: NA Winner: NA This was a part of the trade mentioned above as per the league rules, this piece needed to be adjusted in order for the trade to be approved. Side Note: What a WILD day 3/25 was. HUGE pieces moving all around the league. Love that shit. Anyways moving on. 3/26/18 Kings Trade: Jamal Murray ,Rodney McGruder Hornets trade: Rajon Rondo, Kent Bazemore Grade: A+ for the Hornets, F for the Kings Winner: Hornets in a runaway In one of the most bizzare trades of the year, the Hornets are able to turn 31, cant shoot Rajon Rondo, into a young up and coming guard in Jamal Murray. What an absolute steal for the Hornets. But Rajon has a gold Dimer badge right Ras?!?! LOLOL 3/28/18 Magic Trade: Steven Adams, Wayne Ellington Suns Trade: Hassan Whiteside, Leandro Barbosa Grade: NA Winner: NA This trade was called back. 3/28/18 Mavericks Trade: D'Angelo Russell, NENE, Gerald Henderson Nets Trade: Goran Dragic, Thaddeus Young, Marreese Speights Grade:C+ Winner: Nets Kind of a Meh Trade for me. Don't love it. Don't Hate it. Nets currently stand in 1st place in the East with a nice core of D Russ and PorzGod, so they get the edge here. Interesting move for Lew. Dragic is an MLB mystery. In the 10 seasons I have been a part of, I have yet to see anyone be successful with him. 4/2/18 Grizzlies Trade: Serge Ibaka, Dante Exum Suns Trade: Markieff Morris, Jeremy Lin Grade: C Winner: Suns Any time commish gets his hands on Serge via trade, I gotta give him the win. A Whiteside, Serge 4/5 combo is scary. 4/3/18 Bucks Trade: Luke Kennard Jazz trade: Joe Harris Grade: C Winner: Jazz??? Bucks was begging someone to take Kennard. Jazz has a history with Kennard so he jumped. Have yet to see if the Bucks are successful with Joe Harris, but based on potential alone, I give the Jazz the edge. 4/3/18 Blazers Trade: Jonas Valanciunas, Cole Aldrich Bucks Trade: Chris Bosh, Gorgui Dieng Grade: B Winner: Bucks Pretty self explanatory. JVAL a beast, and Bucks are sitting #3 in the East. Blazers have yet to win a game..... 4/5/18 Knicks Trade: Al Horford, Joe Johnson Timberwolves Trade: TJ Warren, Montrezl Harrell Grade: C+ Winner: Wolves Poor Al, gets no love. I give the Wolves the win here. Al may not be sexy, but in the right fit he can be very productive. Intrigued to see what the Wolves can do with him. 4/5/18 Kings Trade: Jrue Holiday, Davon Reed Raptors trade: Avery Bradley, Joakim Noah Grade: C Winner: Raptors So let me get this straight, RAS back court is now the Celts from their down years 4 years ago? Oh ok. Another L for RAS. Who is scoring from his guards now? Jrue is another player who can produce, but not as sexy as some other players in the league. I give the Raptors the win here. 4/6/18 Clippers Trade: Stephen Curry, Wilson Chandler Heat trade: Lebron James, Tony Snell Grade: A Winner: Clippers If this trade happened in the NBA, I think the world would implode. IG at a minimum would shut down for good. Toss up on who wins this trade. All depends on your play style. I give the win to the Clip, but could easily be convinced otherwise. Decent bench pieces moved in this trade as well. 4/7/18 Pacers Trade: Andre Dummond, Channing Frye, Norman Powell Raptors Trade: Paul Millsap, Enes Kanter, Justin Jackson Grade: A+ for Raptors, C- for Pacers Winner: Raptors I instantly DMd the Raptors when I saw this trade. What a STEAL. Apparently the Pacers didn't realize that Millsap and Kanter STINK Lol. I get the move, try to turn 1 into 2, but he got the wrong 2. Shop Drummond a little more and you may have gotten more. 4/8/18 Timberwolves Trade: Dwayne Wade Celtics Trade: Reggie Bullock Grade: B- Winner: Celtics Yes I give myself the win. Deal with it. Celtics needed a go to scorer off his bench, and a clutch vet in that. A lot of the Celts losses have come from lack of bench production. Reggie is an 88 from 3 and contested 3, but I just couldnt get his shot down. I wish him nothing but the best in his new home. Let's see if Wade can get his last ring in Boston. 4/8/18 Bulls Trade: Chris Paul, Marc Gasol, Carmelo Anthony, Michael Kidd- Gilchrist Wizards Trade: Gordon Hayward, Kemba Walker, Dario Saric, Will Barton Grade: A Winner: Wizards Although the Bulls are in playoff contention, and the Wizards are not, and currently MIA, I gotta give them the edge here. In a complete roster overhaul for both teams, I give the edge to the Wiz in getting CP3 Gasol and Melo. 4/8/18 Mavericks Trade: CJ McCollum, Rondae Hollis- Jefferson, Jordan Clarkson Trail Blazers Trade: Bradley Beal, Danilo Gallinari, TJ McConnell Grade: B Winner: Mavs Lew Generally sneaks in a good trade out of his 12 every year, but this one was great. Beal is a beast plain and simple. 4/8/18 Bucks Trade: Luke Babbitt Kings Trade: Anthony Tolliver Grade: Who Cares Winner: Who Cares YAWN 4/9/18 Bucks Trade: Joe Harris Pelicans Trade: E'Twaun Moore Grade: C+ Winner: Bucks Always been a fan of E'Twaun Moore. Wished him nothing but the best when he left Boston. He has actually turned himself into a nice little pro. Apparently Bucks hated Joe Harris, and got a solid upgrade in E'Twaun. Good find. S14 Statistical Analysis – Deadline Three: 53.5%. The FG% that Mario’s Nets are shooting this season. This leads the league by about 3% to the next highest in TNT. This shows with Mario’s 14-3 record and leading the East. The twin tower combo of KP and Dwight make it easy to be efficient down low (49.1 PIP per game, leading the league). Mario also has one of the deepest teams in the league with Dinwiddie, Nene, Burks, and RoLo coming off the bench to take advantage of other bench units. We’ll see if Mario can keep this up down the stretch and in the playoffs. 39.5%. The 3PT% that Shark’s Thunder is shooting thus far, which is 5th in the league. Yet, somehow Shark is 3-11. He’s had some close loses and has played mostly good competition, so maybe he can turn it around, but he has lost a lot of 50/50 games against equal competition. Shark should be doing a lot better with that almost all 80-starting lineup led by Boogie. Not sure what’s up considering he was in the WCF a short time ago. 17.0 and 69.5%. JSmoove’s FT attempts per game and FT%. The former ranks 2nd in the league, but the latter ranks 29th. Not a good correlation considering he’s leaving points on the court each time he plays. With a completely elite slashing teams he needs to be able to convert those to raise his record and compete in the playoffs. Giannis and Jaylen will continue to get foul calls, but without making those FTs, Smoove will never be able to elevate into the upper echelon of MLBA. 18.9. The Pacers offensive rebounds per game, leading the league. Not sure if WhiteGhost will maintain this stat considering he just shipped an elite rebounder in Drummond for two mediocre bigs in Millsap and Kanter… But, he seems to have a knack for getting boards and has really played better this season, posing an 8-6 record after his hot start. Give him a couple more seasons and he could be a competitor in the East. 40.9% and 40.1. The PHX Suns’ opponent FG% and DRPG this season. This stat leads the league in both, by a decent margin. These two stats are pretty telling of great, conservative defense which is what leads me to be in almost every game I play in this league. My steals (30th) and blocks (8th) will never be elite, but I contest shots well and gather the rebounds, preventing 2nd chance opportunities. 9.7. The Knicks’ turnovers per game, which leads the league by about 2 turnovers per game. Jman is a very good newbie to the league and if it becomes more consistent can be elite in this league. Led by Westbrook, if he adds an interior presence in the draft to go with Tobias he’ll compete. He has some good wins this season against Sneddy and Jbadwood, with close loses to TNT and Duya. From our game this season, I firmly believe he can take the next step with more practice. 41.0%. The Bulls’ opponent 3PT%. This stat correlates with poor records, as the worst 7 teams in this category are all .500 or below. Radiggy, at 6-6, has never been able to break through in the playoffs and this may be the reason why. Maybe with the trade he made, he could get better at defending the 3, but he still lacks perimeter defenders, running a lineup of Kemba-Hayward-Saric-Zbo-Zaza. I would make a move at the trade deadline for a defensive stopper to get around screens to prevent this stat from getting even worse.
